The government has announced that they will be allowing more leeway for those who intend to return to their hometowns during the Movement Control Order (MCO). Senior Defence Minister Ismail Sabri said that those who would like to return to their hometowns must leave by Friday 15 January 2021.
If you have purchased a flight, train, or bus ticket to return to your hometown during MCO, don't worry as the ministry has declared that they will not stop you from travelling.
To curb the high number of new Covid-19 cases in the country, the government has decided to reinstate MCO from 13 January to 26 January 2021 on 5 states and 3 federal territories. Unlike before, car workshops will be allowed to continue operating while automotive factories may continue production.

Ismail Sabri has also confirmed that petrol stations located along highways in states observing MCO will be allowed to operate for 24 hours while the max occupants allowed in a car will return to just 2 passengers per vehicle.
