PDRM confirms Mitsubishi Triton driver driving against traffic on Federal was high on weed

The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has confirmed that the Mitsubishi Triton driver who drove against traffic on Federal Highway heading towards Kuala Lumpur on Sunday morning was high on marijuana. The Triton crashed into a Proton Wira Aeroback claiming two teenager's lives.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director, Norazam Khamis, told the media that both victims, driver Nur Afiqah Abdul Karim (18) and Muhammad Hafiz Syami Dzul Asri (19), sustained heavy injuries during the crash and were declared dead by paramedics at the scene.
The department has handed the bodies to the police for further investigations. Meanwhile, PDRM has confirmed that the 24-year-old driver was tested positive for marijuana.
The driver has been remanded for six days until 17-September-2021.
PDRM is investigating the case under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving and causing death.
