It has only been 20 days since the global debut of the all-new generation Toyota Land Cruiser, but unfortunately, at least 5 of them have ended up in a scrapyard. And you thought the Proton X50 that didn’t reach the owner in Johor was bad…
Photos of several unrecognisable SUVs that surfaced on the internet were revealed to be the brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser 300 series. It was believed that the transporter they were sitting on rolled over and either crushed the SUVs or threw the units off the bed.
The accident happened in the Dhofar Governorate in Oman. In case you didn’t know, the Middle East will be the first market that the Toyota Land Cruiser will go on sale following the global debut.
As you can see from the photos, the Land Cruisers were crushed beyond recognisable. It seems that the only parts that could be saved for spare parts are the wheels.
The cause of the rollover is yet unclear, police are still investigating to find out whether there were other cars involved or a matter of the driver losing control of the truck. From what we understand, the driver escaped unhurt.
The all-new 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 will be officially launched on 1st August 2021. The new SUV sits on the TNGA-F platform and boasts new suspension geometry along with new V6 twin-turbo engines in both petrol and diesel guise. No more V8 here.
