Bigger Porsche Cayenne planned - 3-row seats BEV SUV to rival GLS and X7; coming after 2025

Porsche is gearing up to enter the full-size luxury SUV segment with a new flagship model positioned above the Porsche Cayenne. The new model will be as a direct competitor to the Mercedes GLS and BMW X7; slated to come in the second half of this decade.
At a recent press conference, Porsche stated, “Porsche is also planning to expand its product portfolio upwards – with an all-electric SUV, sportily positioned above the Cayenne. This completely new car concept is based on the SSP Sport platform developed by Porsche and is to be built in Leipzig. Its powerful performance, automated driving functions and a completely new interior experience are intended to tap into new customer potential – particularly in the US and China.”
The Scalable Systems Platform (SSP) will be a ‘uniform Group-wide’ platform that will enable the development and production of all VW Group’s large models and will replace VW’s MEB and even Audi’s PPE platform starting in 2026. This provides another indicator as to when the new flagship Porsche SUV could emerge.
A separate report by Automotive News Europe that the new luxury flagship SUV could have a 3-row option and will be on a newly developed Porsche platform that will support future models.

Emphasizing the potential profitability and exclusivity of the upcoming SUV, Porsche CEO Oliver Blume mentioned, "We will be able to generate good margins there, and we will also be [able] to express Porsche's exclusivity well."
According to Automotive News, the new flagship SUV will be larger, longer, and wider than the current Cayenne, Porsche's biggest model to date, the new SUV is anticipated to introduce a unique style to the brand's lineup, blending sedan and crossover elements with a "rakish" profile.
Another source familiar with the model also said "It's very un-Porsche-like. It has a flat rear design; it's not anything like the Macan and Cayenne."
