Starting from 22 January 2021, eateries in states observing the Movement Control Order will be allowed to operate from 6 am to 10 pm.
The change of timing is a result of public backlash on social media complaining about the early closing time of all eateries, regardless of takeaways or food delivery services, set at 8 pm during the MCO period.
Since the start of MCO, the hashtag #SiBodohKauDengarSini has been trending on Twitter ridiculing the government for not only the ridiculously early closing time of restaurants, but for its messy MCO standard operating procedures (SOP) as well.
