After a couple of months since we last sat behind the wheel of one, news of the GWM Cannon pick-up truck revives after a dealer in Seremban begun advertising it (and its price) on social media.

According to the dealer's posting, the pick-up truck will be sold under the Cannon name, with the sole advertised variant being the Cannon Ultra, priced from RM 127,800 on-the-road without insurance, and it comes with a 5-years/150,000 km warranty.

The Cannon Ultra is the range-topper of the two GWM Cannon models previewed here – it's the blue car you see in these images, while the white one we drove back in May is the workhorse-oriented variant. Both cars are the same model, despite the different front ends.

As previewed at the Malaysia Auto Show a few months ago, the Cannon Ultra has LED head- and tail lights, 18-inch wheels, heated seats, and a digital instrument cluster. Its interior is better appointed too, with powered front seats, paddle shifters, as well as a 9-inch infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Power's derived from a 2.0-litre turbodiesel that makes 163 PS and 400 Nm, paired to a ZF 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Like all other competitiors, it's part-time 4WD.

Granted, these were all shown during the preview, so final specifications upon may change slightly.

No other word was given on the supposedly cheaper Cannon variant, so stay tuned for that, as well as other official news regarding GWM's offerings in Malaysia.
