Front to back: Ora Black Cat and Ora Good Cat
Great Wall Motors' (GWM) entry into Thailand has been public for some time, and their affably-named Ora Good Cat and Ora Black Cat - sometimes known as the R1 - are among the models slated to launch there.
Ora Black Cat
Rather curiously only the Black Cat is right-hand drive (RHD). The Good Cat still has its steering wheel on the left, which is to be expected as there isn't an RHD version of this car yet.

Owing to this, the source expects that the smaller car between the two will be launched in Thailand first.
Black Cat (L), Good Cat (R)
GWM announced their entry into Thailand in February, and has since taken over the former General Motors plant in Rayong, which used to make the Chevrolet Sonic, Colorado, and Trailblazer.
In addition to this duo, the company is due to introduce the much-lauded Haval H6 SUV, the Haval First Love, and the GWM Pao pick-up truck in Thailand too - all of which we've seen up close in Malaysia.
Both electric vehicles (EVs), they captured attention due to their uncommon names and cute looks.

Powering the Good Cat is a permanent magnet electric motor on the front axle that produces 145 PS and 210 Nm. Depending on battery size, the bulbous EV offers a range of up to 400 km or 500 km.

Meanwhile, the R1 is its slightly smaller stablemate. It's a bit less powerful, with only a 49 PS / 125 Nm electric motor powering the front wheels.
And in case you missed it, both models have quietly slipped into Malaysia - but mind you, they're not on sale just yet. Prospects of the Ora duo launching here have excited many - given their 'affordable EV' reputation in China - and lucky for you we've managed to get very personal with both of them recently.
