This new machine fixes a pothole in just 8 minutes! Perfect solution for Malaysia?

A new machine by JCB is claimed to be capable of reducing the time to repair a typical pothole down to just 8 minutes. Aptly named the JCB Pothole Pro, it promises to do so with minimal labour too.

It sounds like an interesting solution to the many potholes we have in Malaysia.

The machine is a tractor that is capable of three things:

• Cutting
• Cropping
• Cleaning

Manual labour is still required since it does not do the job of topping the pothole. Even so, it greatly reduces the overall time required to fix potholes.

In a testimonial video with the Stoke-on-Trent City Council, the job of repairing a 70 square metre patch that typically takes 2-3 days can be reduced down to half a day with the help of the JCB Pothole Pro.

Although our road tax is not used for road maintenance, we're still thankful for having much better roads than most countries in the world.

Should Malaysia invest in the JCB Pothole Pro already, or shall we wait for another cycling accident before we decide?
