Ok, first let’s get to the misconception that the cost is higher in India. Here are the starting prices of the new ,Suzuki Swift,: UK: ,£11,999,., , (,₹11,00,000,) Australia: ,$15,990., , ,(,₹8,00,000,) South Africa: ,SAR 156,000., , (,₹8,00,000,) India: ,₹5,00,000, Now, why are Indian cars poorly manufactured in terms of safety and quality? Supply will always be in tandem with demand. Always. A friend of mine moved back from the US and was looking to buy a hatchback, preferably with an automatic transmission. I suggested the Honda Jazz CVT. He bought the Hyundai Grand i10 Automatic. Why? It was ,₹1,20,000, cheaper than the Jazz. And the i10 had bluetooth streaming, apple car play and climate control. That the i10 had no airbags and ABS which were standard on the Jazz was conveniently ignored.
Get good speakers and HU. My Swift had a 3690ui from pioneer. It did not have Bluetooth but there are bluetooth versions available. Get coaxial speakers like infinity 6502ix
Swift with LXI model won’t come with any added features. You will get just the basic features while for the same price tag you can get features like Power Windows, Music System, Bluetooth Connectivity etc. in Tata Tiago. Other things to look at Swift are ,Reliable Branding i.e. Maruti Suzuki and good Mileage. Go through your desired requirements and make a decision after comparing features on Zigwheels. Though if you’re a Reliable Brand enthusiast then go for Swift.
Grand i10 is better I believe as the top end version of grandi10 offers much more features like rear Ac vents, bluetooth connectivity, etc at much lower price compared to swift
Maruti Suzuki Swift Review : Let us thake this review from a different point of view : Driver profile, : Age, : 24 years Sex, : male Height, : 6′2″ Weight, : 78 kilograms. Car details : Model : Swift ZDi 2013 july Driven: 41k kms. Okay, now let’s begin the review. going to be talking about what was good, bad or the ugly. Features: The good : The music system : the swift has an amazing music system for the price of the car! It even beats the likes of what manufacturers like skoda put in their cars. (I’m talking from experience, my dad drives skoda superb.) The music system is really immersive, with really crispy treble and a deep bass. The mid range is quite decent too. It only lacks at very high volume where one can expect the bass to tear a bit. The storage spaces in the cabin : lots of nice tiny storage spaces. Can put coins newspapers 2 bottles. Has a nice cup holder on the front passenger side that tucks itself neatly away. Usb and aux connectivity : while the newer version is going to be supporting android auto and apple car play, what got me was the ipod connectivity that let me connect my phone and play music seamlessly. It is so convenient! The instrument cluster is really functional and is really super informative. Watch the rpm rise with your heartbeat as the front wheels squeal The 5th alloy wheel! Many cars lack it! But this is a really neat thing from MSIL. The placement of the OVRMs switches. Really helpful when you’re standing in traffic and wish to change ovrm settings on the fly. The bad : Lack of Bluetooth connectivity. Even for 2013, it was a most missed feature. The quality of the plastics. Lots of hard plastics have been used. They don't exactly give the premium feel. Lack of ample ambient lighting. Just one light in the centre of the cabin. Can't take selfies at night. Bummer. No autodimming rear view mirrors. Advantage hyundai. No daytime running lights. Just those stupid silver accents beside the fog lamps. The ugly Cabin space. URGGH. ,sucks to get stuck behing the tall driver. Every. Damn. Time. (“Wait i lost my foot under your seat!”) Driving position. Trust me blindly on this, ,swift’s driving seat is not meant for tall persons who near 6 ft. Knees start to pain after sometime. The drive gets agonising. Seat has to be reclined to get a little comfy, and then you’re too far away from steering. The seat may be comfortable for those who are less than 5′10″ in height. the boot. ,Only a liliput can be put in there. Practically no space. Tray has to be removed to even put a decent sized suitcase in it. If you're going for long trips, this can be a deal breaker. The DRIVE The ,very ,good : Economy : really decent ,with the car averaging approximately ,16/17 kmpl in the city, driving conditions. (The standard conditions were obviously not taken into account) the car manages around ,22kmpl or more on the highway. AIRCONDITIONING WAS ALWAYS ON. Straight line ,: the car lags and crawls to 2000rpm, but after that it pulls like a beast till almost redline. Cornering : surprisingly, the swift is really swift around the corners and it’s really fun to toss it around. Ride : ,a little stiff with 185/65R15, but is certainly enough comfortable for me. The bad The engine : ,the engine revs like it is some old school teacher trying to run fast. Makes more noise than performance. Throttle, ,response is sluggish for the diesel atleast. ,(Sigh) The car could really do wonders with the 1.6 lt engine and would've been really super fun to drive! Boooo 1.3!! The Ugly! The ,viewing angles, are really not that great. Many a times i’ve found myself thanking god that i almost hit a pedestrian because he was in my blind spot! #damn_that_A_pillar. the drving position strikes again! The rear visibility is bad if not poor The car does not feel stable above 110 km/h. HONOURABLE, ,MENTIONS THE, ,GOOD SPARE PARTS COST. Really economical. Saves much pain THE UGLY THE DEALERS Deliberately overcharging. Labour costs almost double or triple that of the parts. Unprofessionally handling things. So much sorrow. That’s the ,swift (the outgoing model) for you. The new swift does look even more promising. Hope you find this review useful.
I think you should wait for the 3rd gen it is expected to come by February in INDIA . As u want to keep it for long term so i think buying 3rd gen will be better than 2nd gen. The next-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift is likely to launch at the upcoming 2018 Indian Auto Expo in February next year. The upcoming Maruti Swift 2017 shares its platform with the Maruti Baleno and the Ignis. It will become Suzuki's first car to get the SHVS mild-hybrid tech with the 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo petrol motor. And this engine could become the debutant petrol motor from Maruti Suzuki to get the SHVS mild-hybrid tech in India. Speaking of its Indian debut, the new Swift is expected to launch at the 2018 Indian Auto Expo early next year. Maruti Suzuki recently launched the third-generation Swift based compact sedan, the Dzire in the Indian market. Speaking of the current model, it is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.3-litre diesel engine. Both the diesel and petrol engines are coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Maruti Swift delivers a claimed mileage of 20.4 kmpl and 25.2 kmpl for the petrol and diesel, respectively. It comes with features like push-button engine start-stop, reverse parking sensors, electronically foldable outside rear-view mirrors and Bluetooth phone integration. The Swift competes with hatchbacks like the Hyundai Grand i10, Volkswagen Polo, Ford Figo and the Fiat Punto. I think you should wait for it .
No, Suzuki Swift doesn't have Engine Start.
