Alongside the launch of the facelifted 2023 Mercedes-AMG A45 S and the regular non-AMG A-Class range, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) also launched the 2023 Mercedes-AMG A35 Sedan facelift. As before, the A35 Sedan facelift is locally assembled (CKD) with an estimated price of RM 354,000.

Like the A45 S, the A35 Sedan gets revised front headlamps, the AMG-specific (Panamericana) front grille and with the AMG emblem instead of the Mercedes star with a laurel wreath.

In addition, a new front apron and the power bulges familiar from the A45 S provide the A35 with a new AMG face. The AMG look is underlined by the new wheel design, the rear spoiler lip, revised rear headlamps and the round exhaust pipes.

Powertrain wise, the M260 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine now features a 48-volt mild hybrid system that incorporates a belt-driven starter-generator (RSG). This system provides a boost of 14 PS during initial acceleration or to facilitate enhanced coasting for improved fuel efficiency. 

There’s a new 8-speed dual-clutch transmission in place of the previous 7-speed unit. Output numbers remains as before at 306 PS and 400 Nm and 0-100 km/h sprint takes 4.7 seconds.

Inside, the updated MBUX system (NTG 7) features AMG-specific displays and no longer includes the touchpad that was previously located on the centre console (as seen in the A-Class facelift). Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity is supported, audio is channelled through the Burmester surround sound system.

Standard equipment includes with dual-zone automatic climate control, AMG Performance seats, 64-colour ambient lighting, head-up display, and wireless charging.

As for advanced safety, the 2023 Mercedes-AMG A35 Sedan gets Active Distance Assist Distronic, Active Brake Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Tracking Package, Active Parking Assist with 360-degree camera, and Blind Spot Assist.
