2024 GAC GS3 Emzoom launched in Malaysia, priced from RM 119k; X50, HR-V rival with 1.5T and DCT

At long last, the 2024 GAC GS3 Emzoom has just been launched in Malaysia. Two variants are on sale, the 1.5 T Exclusive (RM 118,900) and 1.5 T Premium R (RM 128,900).
The GS3 Emzoom takes the fight directly to rivals like the Proton X50 and Honda HR-V. It is fully imported (CBU China) for now, with locally-assembled (CKD) versions coming soon.

Exclusive variant is virtually the same, save for small details
Well, for one, it starts things off right by looking a whole lot better than the dud that was the last-gen GS3. This one goes ham with geometric patterns, comes with standard LED lighting up front and back, the distinct Civic Type R-style central-exit exhaust tips (Premium R exclusive), and 18-inch wheels.
Customers can opt for their GS3 Emzoom in four different colours: Graphene Grey, Salt Lake Blue, Ivory White, and Super Star Silver.

Inside, the five-seater SUV comes with leatherette seats all round and rear air-cond vents. The dual-tone cabin also comes with a two-screen setup (7-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch infotainment) to handle all the vitals one needs while driving.
Connectivity comes via wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and there's a bunch of USB-A and USB-C ports. There’s also a crystal knob for the shift-by-wire system.
The Premium R variant adds automatic climate control, six-way power-adjustable driver's seat, multi-colour ambient lighting, wireless smartphone charger, a powered tailgate, and a panoramic sunroof.
Speaking of powertrain, underneath the bonnet lies a 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces 177 PS and 270 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Suspension is made up of MacPherson struts in front, and a torsion beam by the rear.

Distributors Warisan Tan Chong Automotif backs the GAC GS3 Emzoom with a 5-year/150,000 km warranty and a three times complimentary scheduled service maintenance includes labour, parts, and lubricants.
2,000 early bird buyers will gain a 7-year/180,000 km engine and powertrain warranty, as well as a complimentary GAC Smart Watch Key.
WTCA so far has 15 official dealers, and aims to have over 20 showrooms in Peninsula Malaysia by Q3 2024.
