Porsche and Austrian boat builder Frauscher have collaborated to develop an electric yacht, but the highlight here is that the yacht will be using the same underpinnings as the upcoming all-electric 2024 Porsche Macan.

We’ve seen the test mules of the 2024 Porsche Macan EV, but this sketch provides new design insights such as the Porsche Taycan-like profile with a full-width light bar at the rear.

Porsche has previously announced that the next-generation 2024 Porsche Macan EV will be powered by a 100-kWh battery pack, which contains 12 modules with prismatic cells and features an 800V electrical architecture.

Like the Taycan, the Macan EV supports DC fast charging up to 270 kW. This allows the Macan EV to charger from a 5 percent state-of-charge (SoC) to 80 percent in less than 25 minutes.

In terms of output, Porsche said that the Macan EV will deliver up to 612 PS and 1,000 Nm, courtesy of two electric motors mounted on both axles to give all-wheel drive capability.

The Macan EV will get a Performance Rear axle and has a near-neutral 48:52 weight balance. Pushing the rear motor further rearwards has allowed Macan EV to get four-wheel steering.

There’s no confirmed date for the Macan EV’s global debut yet, but it was hinted that it could happen in late-2023 or early-2024.
