3 killed in SUKE construction crane collapse along Alam Damai

Yet another accident has been reported involving the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE). According to reports a crane fell on top of a car at the construction site at Puncak Banyan, Persiaran Alam Damai.
Three construction workers were killed during the incident, while another two are believed to be seriously injured. The Star reports, at the time of writing, firemen are still in the process of extracting a worker trapped at the site.
It is believed that the construction workers fell 120 m and died at the scene. Fortunately, the driver of the Perodua Bezza survived but was severely injured.
A Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson told the daily that they received a call at around 8.45 am. 25 firemen from Cheras, Tun Razak, and Hang Tuah stations were deployed to the scene.
This is the third incident involving the SUKE construction this year. Earlier this month, 5 people were trapped in a factory van travelling on the MRR2 highway near Bandar Tasik Selatan when a trailer impacted construction scaffolding causing a portion of the construction to fall.
Two factory workers were killed during the incident while the other 3 victims were seriously injured.
The most recent incident follows the accident involving a Proton Persona that caught fire after colliding with construction scaffolding in another area of the expressway construction
Another incident that happened last week involved a Proton Persona that caught fire after it collided with another scaffolding. The driver of the car died at the scene.
Updated: Authorities have confirmed that there are a total of 6 victims involved in the incident. Two other workers have been rescued from the debris.
