It seems many are still confused about the new standard operating procedures (SOP) in the reinstatement of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya. We’re here to clear up that confusion.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob explained that CMCO is imposed based on administrative district borders in the Klang Valley.
The whole of Kuala Lumpur is considered as one district while Putrajaya is considered another district.
“For example, those from Bukit Bintang can travel freely to TTDI (Taman Tun Dr Ismail) or those in Cheras travelling to Bukit Bintang is allowed,” he said during the press conference.
For the examples above, you will not need to obtain police permission.
As for Selangor, it is a little more complicated than KL and Putrajaya as the state is separated into 9 administrative districts, each district is represented by a district officer or DO.
The districts are: Petaling, Klang, Gombak, Hulu Langat, Sepang, Kuala Langat, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, and Sabak Bernam.
If you’re living in a different district from your workplace, ie: live in Selangor and work in KL or living in Kuala Selangor and work in Petaling, you do not need to apply for a police permit. All you need is an authorisation letter from your employer. Read more about it here.
