Starting 1st October 2020, you can no longer use the parking machines to pay for your street parking ticket in the city under DBKL’s purview. But you can’t pay via JomParking, Boost, and TnG e-Wallet either, instead you will have to familiarise yourself with DBKL’s new payment apps.
According to DBKL’s statement, the council has decided not to renew their contract with the company that provides the payment machines and move on to purely cashless mobile payments only as a way to encourage living in the new normal.
As mentioned, usual apps that we use to pay for street parking like JomParking are also no longer in service. DBKL did not mention why they have cancelled their contract with JomParking, instead, they have introduced 4 new apps as a replacement.
- EZ Smart Park (Apple App Store, PlayStore)
- FlexiParking (Apple App Store, PlayStore)
- Wilayah Parking (Apple App Store, PlayStore)
- M-Cash e-wallet (Apple App Store, PlayStore)
Meanwhile, DBKL has stated that they are in the midst of implementing parking payment via more common e-wallet options like TnG and Boost to provide more options for customers.
