Mentioned in passing at today’s announcement of the new 2023 Tesla Model 3 Highland for Thailand are the revised pricing for the bigger Tesla Model Y.

The Model Y was launched in Thailand December 2022, with prices starting from THB 1,959,000 for the base rear-wheel drive variant, going up to THB 2,509,000 for the all-wheel drive Performance variant.

Effective today, the new prices for the Thailand market Tesla Model Y are:

• Base rear-wheel drive: THB 1,699,000 (~RM 217k, cheaper by 13.2%)
• Long Range all-wheel drive: THB 1,999,000 (~RM 255k, cheaper by 11.5%)
• Performance all-wheel drive: THB 2,299,000 (~RM 293k, cheaper by 8.3%)

The price cut is bad news for those who’ve bought their cars earlier, but Tesla says “This strategic move aligns with Tesla's mission to expand the electric vehicle lifestyle and reduce emissions, welcoming even more drivers to adopt the EV lifestyle.”

Indeed, the base variant is the one that receives the highest discount (in percentage).

As before, the Tesla Model Y is imported from China.

• Base rear-wheel drive: RM 199,000
• Long Range all-wheel drive: RM 246,000
• Performance all-wheel drive: RM 288,000
