Yes, you read that right, while the world is getting ready to finally leave 2020 behind, an ex-employee of the Mercedes factory in Spain decided to rampaged through the factory yard causing an estimated €5 million worth of damages.
According to a report by the Daily Mail, a 38-year-old man stole an excavator and drove it to the Mercedes factory in Vitoria, Spain with the sole intention of causing mayhem.

After the man managed to smash through the factory gates, he proceeded to rampage through a new car courtyard, damaging at least 50 brand-new vans that were awaiting delivery.
He eventually came to a halt after a security guard fired a shot in the air and subsequently removed him from the excavator while waiting for the police’s arrival.
Though the exact figure for the damages caused was not revealed, it is estimated that the number could get as high as €5 million (about RM 25 million). This is not including the damages that the suspect caused while on his way to the factory.
Authorities estimated that the suspect travelled at least 21 km from where he stole the excavator to the Mercedes factory.
Although it is suspected that the man’s action is a work-related revenge attack, the suspect is not exactly a recent discharge of the factory either.
Authorities discovered that the man worked at the factory between 2016 and 2017, which would mean that the New Year Eve attack on the Mercedes factory has long been brewing in the back of the suspect's mind before he carried out the attack.
