Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has announced the expansion of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 lineup in Malaysia, introducing two new variants: the Lite and Plus.

The Ioniq 6 range in Malaysia now starts at RM 219,888 for the Lite RWD, and RM 249,888 for the Plus RWD, complementing the existing Max variants.

Here a quick overview of the Hyundai Ioniq 6's range in Malaysia:

  • Ioniq 6 Lite RWD - RM 219,888
  • Ioniq 6 Plus RWD - RM 249,888
  • Ioniq 6 Max RWD - RM 289,888
  • Ioniq 6 Max AWD - RM 319,888

Exterior wise, both the Lite and Plus variants look identical to the Max RWD variant. The differences are what you canโ€™t see, like the single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) configuration with 151 PS / 350 Nm. Both Lite and Plus variants can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.8 seconds.

Power is supplied by a 53 kWh battery that allows up to 429 km range on the WLTP cycle for both Lite and Plus variants. Thanks to their shared 800-volt architecture with the Max variants, maximum DC charging rate is up to 350 kW, while AC charging is rated at 11 kW.

Both variants also feature Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), dual-widescreen displays measuring 12.3-inch, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, 64-colour ambient lighting, wireless phone charging, and power tailgate just to name a few.

The Lite variant gets manually adjusted fabric seats and a 6-speaker audio system instead of the Bose system found in the rest of the lineup. Head-up display is also absent for both Lite and Plus variants.

Standard safety features for all variants include seven airbags with a front-centre airbag, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go.
