Edgy and in-your-face, the 2023 BMW iX is as much about making a statement as it is about being a EV powerhouse and engaging SUV to drive.

Since its formal introduction in Malaysia in 2021, the BMW iX has taken the EV market by storm, offering customers a solid entry point to EV ownership given it’s overall luxury, practicality, driving range and efficiency.

Additionally, with three variants on offer, and prices starting at just over RM 385k, the BMW iX also gives you a lot of car, for your money. 

Power of the BMW iX xDrive40 comes from a dual-motor setup (all-wheel drive) with 326 PS/630 Nm that does 0-100 km/h in 6.1 seconds, while top speed is 200 km/h. Battery capacity is rated at 76.6 kWh, which allows for an electric range of up to 425 km on the WLTP cycle.

For those who desire more power, the iX xDrive50 will deliver a total system output of 523 PS and 765 Nm of torque, delivering a blistering 0-100 km/h sprint time of 4.6 seconds. Battery capacity is also upgraded to 108.8 kWh which offers a driving range of up to 630 km. (WLTP cycle).

Besides more power, moving up the BMW iX range also add more tech and equipment. The Sport package adds on larger 22-inch wheels, Sport line trim, Laserlight, panoramic sunroof, Harman Kardon sound system, and tyre pressure monitoring system.

Given the BMW iX is underpinned by a bespoke EV platform, it offers a classy and spacious interior, decked in tactile materials. The floating centre console (available in the Sport trim) is nothing short of a highlight – finished in wood and crowned with a crystal iDrive controller.

As standard, the BMW iX comes with Live Cockpit Professional with dual curved displays - featuring a 12.3-inch instrument display and 14.9-inch infotainment display, and Qi wireless charging. 

In terms of advanced safety features, the BMW iX comes with Driving Assistant and Parking Assistant as standard. The Driving Assistant package includes Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Warning, Front Collision Warning with Brake Intervention (AEB), Crossing Traffic Warning Rear (RCTA), and Rear Collision Prevention.

The Sport package upgrades tech to include Driving Assistant Professional and Parking Assistant Plus. The Driving Assistant Professional includes Steering and Lane Control Assistant, Emergency Stop Assistant, Automatic Speed Limit Assist, and Evasion Assistant. Parking Assistant Plus adds Surround View Camera.
