The MG HS is perhaps the longest automotive tease in Malaysia. The C-segment SUV first surfaced in Malaysia back in 2020 and it has been almost two years of on-and-off teasing.

This time around, thanks to social media posts, someone got up close and personal with the MG HS in Penang, documenting some details in the process.

From the photos, this red MG HS gets a monocular camera and milli-meter wave radar, 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, and leather upholstery.

The 1.5T emblem on the tailgate denotes that it is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that does 162 PS and 250 Nm, mated to a 7-speed DCT that powers the front wheels.

Over in Thailand where the MG HS is currently sold, it is offered with an eye-catching red leather upholstery. Thankfully, this particular unit does with a more conventional black finishing instead.

When will it come to Malaysia?

At the moment, it’s hard to say for sure when will the MG HS be launched in Malaysia. It’s complete radio silence surrounding MG’s return to Malaysia.

However, considering that the MG HS is once again prowling the streets, perhaps its more of a question of when, rather than if.
