Missing in Malaysia, all-new 2023 Lexus LM launched in Thailand - Hybrid-only from equivalent of RM 833k 01

The all-new 2023 Lexus LM was recently launched in Thailand following the launch of the AH40 generation Toyota Alphard and Vellfire luxury minivans in the Kingdom. Fully imported from Japan, the all-new Thai-spec LM is available in two variants:

  • LM 350h Executive 7-seater – THB 6.29 million (~RM 833k)
  • LM 350h Executive 4-seater – THB 7.59 million (~RM 1 million)

Essentially a pricier AH40 Alphard/Vellfire with a 4-seater layout, the second-generation Luxury Mover sits on the TNGA-K platform and the Thai-spec LM is only offered with a hybrid powerplant. The 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder A25A-FXS unit produces a combined 250 PS and 239 Nm.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1685525140735-0'); });

Just like the Thai-spec Alphard and Vellfire, the hybrid system sends power to all 4 wheels via the E-Four electronic four-wheel drive system.

As mentioned in the variants, the Thai-spec LM is offered with a 4-seater variant that sees the rear only occupied by two lounge-style captain chairs. Between the front and rear occupants is a partition wall that holds a large 48-inch screen, a privacy glass with dimming control, as well as a built-in minibar.

With emphasis on comfort, the LM 350h comes with Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) with a Frequency-Sensitive Piston Valve as standard. As a result, acceleration and braking are tuned to minimize body motion for rear passengers.

Unfortunately, for Malaysian politicians and bosses who rose to the top of the pyramid in their schemes, the Lexus LM is not likely to be launched in the country this year as UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) will be introducing the AH40 generation of the Alphard and Vellfire first.
