The Chery Tiggo 4 Pro is a far cry from the second-gen Toyota RAV4 clone of the original Tiggo but the brand’s presence in Malaysia has been fairly quiet for some time. Until recent weeks that is, and following our earlier spyshot, here’s another one spotted in Kuala Lumpur.
Based on the trade plates, it appears that this might be the same Tiggo 4 Pro that we reported before. The camouflaged SUV certainly looks compact but it is actually slightly bigger than the Proton X50.

As you might recall, Chery had a bit of success with the Eastar but its follow-up, the Maxime, became a bit of a flop. The Tiggo was sold in Malaysia too but as it was seen as an inferior Toyota RAV4 copy, it didn’t garner much success.
The Tiggo 4 Pro is available with a choice of a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated (NA) engine (116 PS/143 Nm), a 2.0-litre NA (122 PS/180 Nm), and a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine (156 PS/230 Nm) in various markets.
Chery is currently only sold in left-hand drive markets and with the Tiggo 4 Pro being spotted a few times already, could Malaysia be the Chinese carmaker’s first right-hand drive market in years? Guess we’ll have to stay tuned for that.
