The Chery Omoda E5 comes with an interesting proposition for would-be owners – a conditional one-to-one battery exchange programme on top of the car's warranty period.
This programme entitles owners to swap out their Omoda E5's 61 kWh lithium-ion battery for a new one if the battery's state of health (SoH) dips below 70% during the battery's 8-year, 160,000 km warranty coverage, whichever comes sooner.
Should the car be sold during this period, it's also transferable to the new owner. The warranty is tied to the vehicle identifiation number (VIN), useful for improving resale value.
Meanwhile, Chery Malaysia backs the RM 147k Omoda E5's motor, battery management system, and control unit with an 8-year, 160,000 km warranty. The rest of the car is covered by a 7-year, 150k km vehicle warranty.
