Thailand to launch CBU Malaysia 2023 Peugeot 408 GT later today; coming to our shores next year

Before it heads to Malaysia, Thailand will be launching the 2023 Peugeot 408 GT first, slated to take place later today at the opener of the Thailand International Motor Expo (TIME 2023).
Autolife Thailand divulged that only one variant of the crossover will be offered there, imported (CBU) from Malaysia. The publication says the French car will only be available with a 1.6 turbo engine, making 218 PS and 300 Nm, connected to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Meanwhile, features include 20-inch alloy wheels, and LED lighting on the outside as obvious highlights. Inside there's Peugeot's funky i-Cockpit design that houses a 10-inch 3D-style digital gauge cluster for the driver, and a 10-inch infotainment in the middle that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Making up the niceties of the 408 GT are things like Nappa leather seats, as well as a Focal 10-speaker hi-fi sound system. Prices for Thailand is estimated to start from THB 1,849,000 (~RM 246,215).
After Thailand, it's only a matter of time before the 408 heads to Malaysia. An interview earlier this month with Stellantis' Chief Operating Officer for the ASEAN region, Daniel Gonzalez, confirmed its arrival here along with other Peugeot models too, which will happen in 2024.
