The Vellfire has a sort of love-hate relationship among Malaysians. It is cheaper (RM 367,881) than the Alphard (RM 446,609) and though it's only available with a 2.5-litre inline-4 officially, 3.5-litre V6 options are available through recond dealers.

There's no doubt that the Toyota Alphard (and its Vellfire twin) is the best luxury MPV on the market. Few other cars can match the Alphard/Vellfire's spaciousness and ease of entrace/exit. Compared to a Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the Alphard's sliding doors allow you to step in/out of the car as if it's a room, rather than a car.
