Chery Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro opened for bookings in Indonesia
Both SUVs are backed by Chery's 10-year warranty
Should the CR-V and CX-5 be worried?
At the ongoing Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (2022 GIIAS), Chery opened pre-orders for the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro and Chery Tiggo 8 Pro. Bookings were opened roughly 7 months after the models were first previewed back in late-January.

Like the Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro that’s currently on sale in South Africa, buyers in Indonesia are also backed by a 10-year / 1-million km warranty package.
For Indonesia, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that does 147 PS and 210 Nm, mated to a CVT transmission. It goes head-to-head against rivals like the Mazda CX-5 and Honda CR-V.
As for the 7-seater Tiggo 8 Pro, it gets a slightly larger turbocharged 1.6-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine with 197 PS and 290 Nm. Instead of a CVT transmission, the Tiggo 8 Pro gets a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
At the moment, Chery has 20 dealers across Indonesia. The Wuhu-based company plans to expand to 70 dealers over the next couple of years.
Closer to home, Chery revealed that the first 3 units of the aforementioned SUVs are en route from China to Malaysia and are expected to reach our shores over the coming months.
