The 2022 Honda Civic FE is inching ever closer to its Indonesian market debut. Recently, fleeting images of the RS top-spec variant were spotted on public roads, during the filming of the car’s ad.
Images shared on Indonesian automotive sleuth Indra Fathan’s Instagram page showed several images of a Civic RS finished in Ignite Red paintjob behind a pursuit camera car.
This had led to the conjecture that the all-new Civic will be launched in Indonesia before the end of the year.
The Honda Civic was first launched in Thailand in early August featuring three variants across the range, starting with the EL all the way to the range-topping RS as seen here.

All variants of the FE-generation Civic is propelled by the 1.5-litre, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces 178 PS and 240 Nm. In comparison to the FC-generation Civic's output (173 PS, 220 Nm), that's a 5 PS and 20 Nm bump in the FE-generation Civic.
This VTEC Turbo powerplant continues to be paired to a CVT-type transmission, sending drive to the front wheels.
In addition to more power, the Civic FE also receives updates to its Honda Sensing ADAS suite, now adding Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN).
The LCDN system uses a millimetre-wave radar to detect when the car in front starts from standstill traffic and notifies the driver with audio and visual alerts if the accelerator pedal is not depressed.
The LCDN feature adds to the already excellent Honda Sensing features that include:
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
Collision Mitigation (CBMS)
Active Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow (LSF)
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS)
Closer to home, citing delays due to lockdown measures, we previously learnt that the Civic FE’s introduction could be delayed beyond the original timeframe of a Q1 2021 launch.
The Honda City hatchback, on the other hand, which was slated to be introduced in Q2 of this year, might remain on course for a 2021 debut.
Arvind can't remember a time when he didn't wheel around a HotWheels car. This love evolved into an interest in Tamiya and RC cars and finally the real deal 1:1 scale stuff. Passion finally lead to formal training in Mechanical Engineering. Instead of the bigger picture, he obsesses with the final drive ratio and spring rates of cars and spends the weekends wondering why a Perodua Myvi is so fast.
