Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has announced a revised price for its locally assembled (CKD) 2024 Volkswagen Golf GTI, along with a longer list of features.

New for the 2024 model year is a 10-speaker 480W Harman Kardon audio system, replacing the previous model year’s 8-speaker setup.

Also new for this year is a colour Head-up Display that projects speed, navigation, and system warnings onto the front windscreen.

These updates have also bumped up the Golf GTI’s price to RM 254,012 (Peninsular Malaysia, excluding insurance). That’s a RM 8,000 increase from the previous price of RM 246,012. However, the buyer is getting not just the two afore-mentioned upgrades, as the new price includes a longer 5 years free service, two years more than the previous model’s Volkswagen Assurance Package (VAP) package.

Other coverage like 5-year warranty and 5-year free roadside assistance remain unchanged.

As a recap, the Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk 8 is locally assembled at the DRB-Hicom assembly plant in Pekan, Pahang. It’s powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged direct injection 4-cylinder that makes 245 PS and 370 Nm.

Since March 2023, the Golf GTI is already equipped with the IQ. Drive suite of driver assistance functions, including Travel Assist with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Side Assist with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Front Assist, Emergency Assist, and Lane Assist.

Infotainment is a 10” Discover Media touchscreen unit that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
