BMW Malaysia has confirmed prices of the locally-assembled (CKD) 2021 BMW X7 xDrive40i, following its preview back in February.

The sole X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence variant will be priced at RM 673,323 (on-the-road, without insurance, without SST, valid until 30-June). With SST in place, the X7 xDrive40i is priced at RM 698,800. Both prices are inclusive of the Extended Warranty and Service package.

Compared to the CBU model, the CKD model is RM 163,047 cheaper (with Extended Warranty and Service package). The CBU model was priced at RM 861,847.

Like other locally-assembled (CKD) BMW model, the X7 xDrive40i is assembled at the Inokom plant in Kulim, Kedah.

Power is derived from a turbocharged 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine that does 340 PS and 450 Nm, mated to an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission that deploys power to all four wheels.

Like the imported (CBU) model, the CKD BMW X7 xDrive40i continues to offer the Design Pure Excellence styling pack, which adds chrome highlights on the exterior of the SUV. As before, the X7 xDrive40i gets 21-inch Style 753 dual-tone alloy wheels.

The interior is also unchanged from before. The assembled-in-Kulim X7 xDrive40i offers Vernasca leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, dual 12.3-inch displays (for infotainment and instrument cluster), and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

Compared to the made-in-South Carolina BMW X7, the CKD units now add a two-axle air suspension and rear-wheel steering.

At the same time, while the CKD BMW X7 xDrive40i offers the Driving Assistance ADAS suite with features like Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Warning, Front Collision Warning with brake intervention, rear collision prevention, and Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function, it loses Lane Centering Assist, Lane Change Assist, and Blind Spot collision avoidance.

For the CKD BMW X7 xDrive40i, the interior leather upholstery colour is dependent on the exterior colour. Five exterior colours are available, namely: Black Sapphire and Sophisto Grey with Cognac Leather Vernasca upholstery, Phytonic Blue and Manhattan Metallic with Black Leather Vernasca upholstery, and Mineral White with Coffee Leather Vernasca upholstery.
