We’ve talked about the Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) in cars all the time, but yet many Malaysians are still of the mindset that it is an unnecessary system to have. Kia recently interviewed the engineers who worked on the ADAS in the all-new 2021 Kia Sportage and let them show us why we need it.
The all-new fifth-generation Kia Sportage made its official world debut just last month and to fit with the new automotive safety regulation standards, the SUV now comes with a full suite of ADAS.

There is the usual Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) known as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), as well as Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Warning (BCW), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), and Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM).
Other than that, there are also various systems to help make parking easier such as Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), and Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA).

They all seem like a confusing soup of abbreviations, but these systems were specifically fine-tuned by a team of engineers to mitigate rear-world collisions as much as possible. Without further ado, we’ll let these engineers tell you why you need ADAS in your next car.
