More recently, our friends over at Funtasticko published spy shots of the all-new 2021 Peugeot 2008, which is set to be BAASB’s first product launch for 2021.
Codenamed P24, the second-generation Peugeot 2008 was introduced in Europe back in June 2019. It is a B-segment SUV that competes against the Honda HR-V, Hyundai Kona, and Proton X50.
It remains to be seen what powertrain will be offered in Malaysia, but the Vietnam-spec Peugeot 2008 features a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that does 135 PS and 230 Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that sends drive to the front wheels.
This particular Peugeot 2008 was spotted in Gurun, wearing a Kedah trade plate.
Recall that PSA Group has taken over the Naza Automotive Manufacturing plant in Gurun. The plant was then sold to PSA Group in 2018.
The plant currently produces the Peugeot 3008 and Peugeot 5008, both of which are exported to Thailand.
