Chery's sub-brand, Exeed, has initiated pre-sales for its Exlantix ET (known as Sterra ET in China) on 15-April in China, with prices starting from CNY 199,000 (around RM 131k) to CNY 329,000 (around RM 217k).
The Exlantix ET presents both battery electric vehicle (BEV) versions and range-extended electric vehicle (E-REV) versions. Range-extended electric vehicles are plug-in hybrids that use its combustion engine solely as a generator.
The E-REV series includes the Plus priced at CNY 199,000 to the Pro+ at CNY 239,000 (around RM 158k). The BEV series comprises the Pro at CNY 239,000, all the way up to the Ultra at CNY 329,000. The E-REV version features Chery's self-developed engine with a 44.5 percent thermal efficiency, rated at 156 PS.
Meanwhile, the BEV version is outfitted with CATL's Shenxing battery, featuring a peak charging power of 420 kW, which translates to adding 475-km range with 11.5 minutes of charging.
Detailed specifications have yet to be release, but CarNewsChina reports that power is derived from dual front and rear electric motors, with maximum powers of 249 PS/313 PS, front and rear respectively, achieving a 0 -100 km/h acceleration in 5.46 seconds.
The Exlantix ET adopts a full-aluminium chassis design with front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspension, sitting on Chery's EEA 5.0 architecture. The exterior features a closed grille, full-width headlights and taillights, and pop-out door handles.
Inside, there’s a 15.6-inch large central control screen integrates various modes including baby, pet, and karaoke modes. The size of the digital instrument panel remains undisclosed currently.
Additional features include zero-gravity seats, seat ventilation/heating/massage, a 23-speaker Lion Melody Max audio system, a panoramic glass roof, and a self-developed health monitoring system, capable of real-time monitoring passengers’ heart rate, blood pressure, and other health data.
In terms of safety and advanced driving assistance, the Exlantix ET features a suite of 30 sensors and two Orin-X chips from NVIDIA, offering support from high-speed cruising assistance to urban cruising assistance and parking assist function.
