2024 new Nissan Qashqai facelift unveiled - New N-Design variant, Google built-in OS 01

The third-generation (J12) 2024 Nissan Qashqai facelift has been unveiled, bringing with it a range of design and equipment updates over the pre-facelift model that was first introduced in 2021.

The Nissan Qashqai, mainly sold in Europe and Australia, is built on the Renault-Nissan 'CMF-C/D' platform which also underpins the Nissan X-Trail and the now discontinued US-market Rogue Sport. The latter is replaced by the all-new Nissan Kicks set to launch later this year.

The 2024 model primarily features an updated front grille design alongside new adaptive high beam headlights. The rear design remains similar, with small updates to the taillight. Elsewhere there is the new "N-Design Grade" which pairs sportier trim touches with 20-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the Qashqai's cabin receives more premium materials such as an Alcantara-clad dashboard, door inserts, and armrests depending on the variant. Elsewhere, the Qashqai also receives ambient interior lighting on higher grade levels.

Under the hood, the 2024 Qashqai continues to be powered by the Nissan e-Power series-hybrid powertrain which features a 1.5-litre turbo 3-cylinder engine that solely generates electricity for the 1.8 kWh battery and 188 PS/330 Nm electric-motor that drives the front wheels.

In addition to the e-Power variant, the 2024 Qashqai offers two mild-hybrid variants powered by a 1.3-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine, aided by a 12-volt mild hybrid system. The first delivers 140 PS and 240 Nm, and the more powerful one outputs 158 PS and 270 Nm

Both engine configurations can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a CVT transmission. All-wheel drive is also available in selected variants.

Fuel consumption figures read 6.2 - 7.1 litres/100km for the mild-hybrid variants and 5.1 - 5.3 litres/100km for the e-Power models, depending on grade.

Another big addition is 2024 Qashqai’s infotainment system, which now has a Google Built-In operating system for better connectivity and AI voice-activated “Hey Google” functions.

Alongside Nissan has also enhanced the 2024 Qashqai’s ADAS safety assistance features – starting with an upgraded AEB system which is more responsive, as well as upgrades to the Around View Monitor (AVM) system which now features a 3D bird’s eye view feature.

The 2024 Qashqai will be produced at Nissan’s Sunderland plant in the UK; order books in Europe are slated to open in Q3 2024.
