This particular 2022 FE Honda Civic RS could be the very first 11th-generation Civic globally to wear a safety car suit, as PT Honda Prospect Motor prepped this particular unit in conjunction with the 2022 Mandalika Track Day in Indonesia.
Apart from its customary attention-grabbing sticker job, this particular Civic safety car also gets orange strobe lights on the roof – customary for any safety car.
Yusak Billy, Business Innovation and Sales & Marketing Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor explained that the Civic was chosen as a safety car due to its sporty character that matches its racing pedigree.
Honda Indonesia sells just one variant of the Civic, namely the Civic RS. Unlike the previous generation model that was offered as a sedan and a hatchback, the 11th-generation model is sold exclusively as a sedan in the archipelago. The 11th-generation hatchback isn’t offered in this region.
The model is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine that does 178 PS and 240 Nm, mated to a CVT transmission that sends power to the front wheels.
Imported (CBU) from Thailand, Indonesia’s Civic RS is priced at IDR 584.9 million (~RM 175k).
