As social media is still reeling from the shocking accident between a Perodua Myvi and Toyota Hilux, another piece of news relating to the incident has come to light. Sinar Harian reports that one of the victims of the crash had bolted from the location before authorities arrived at the scene.
Muar police chief, ACP Zaharudin Rasip, believes that the escapee, the driver of the green Ford Spectre van that the Hilux landed on, was a foreigner working in Malaysia without a permit and fled the scene before he could be investigated.
The terrifying accident was caused by the Toyota Hilux who jumped a red light and T-boned the Myvi. The Myvi driver (41) died at the scene while her daughter (19), who was in the passenger’s seat at the time, was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
But the accident did not end there, the force of the Hilux sent the pick-up tumbling into a cluster of 4 cars waiting in the other direction. The cars involved were a Nissan Grand Livina, a Nissan Urvan, another Toyota Hilux, and the Ford Spectre.
At the time of writing, the latest update reports that the 69-year-old Hilux driver suffered from numerous injuries as a result of the crash though none are life-threatening.
