Porsche Malaysia, represented by Sime Darby Auto Performance, has introduced the new Taycan GTS, positioned above the Taycan 4S and below the Taycan Turbo. Prices start from RM 708,000, excluding options and registration fees.

However, the press release did not mention the arrival of the Sport Turismo wagon body style in Malaysia, so wagon fans will have to hold their breaths.

With a range of up to 504 km, based on WLTP figures, the new sports model is also the first Taycan to break the 500-km mark with the Performance Battery Plus that has a total capacity of 93.4 kWh.

The Porsche Taycan GTS has two electric motors; one for the front axle and one for the rear. This means that it is equipped with all-wheel drive as standard. The electric motors are the same units used in the Taycan Turbo models but are specifically adapted to the GTS.

With launch control, the Taycan GTS has a power overboost of up to 598 PS / 850 Nm (517 PS without overboost) and the sprint from 0-100 km/h can be achieved in both variants within 3.7 seconds. The maximum speed of the two cars is 250 km/h.

Since then, the Taycan model range has been well-received and today, we are bringing a new derivative that represents the sweet spot in the Taycan range, the GTS,” said Christopher Hunter, Chief Executive Officer of Sime Darby Auto Performance.

The Porsche Taycan GTS comes with the Premium Package as standard, with on-board AC-charger with 22 kW, Mobile Charger Connect, Charging cable (mode 3), Home Energy Manager, Advanced Climate Control (4-Zone), electrically-folding exterior mirrors, passenger display and ParkAssist with surround view.

To reiterate, the Porsche Taycan GTS with Premium Package is priced starting from RM 708,000, and will be available in Q2 2022 in Malaysia.
