The earlier rain settles into a light drizzle, the air is damp and fizzing with the smell of fuel. A procession of cars that took nearly one hour to get on the main straight of the Sepang F1 circuit has led to this moment.

Standing almost dead centre of the pack, Mercedes-AMGs stretch as far as the eye can see up and down the road. As the marshalls start counting the number of cars, the final tally stops at a whopping 448 units.

The feat, jointly organised by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM), AMG Club Malaysia (ACM) and AMG Owners Community Malaysia (AOCM) sets a new Malaysian record for the most number of Mercedes-AMG vehicles gathered in one place. 

It also smashes the previous record set in 2022, which totalled just 180 vehicles.

The Malaysian Book of Records gathering rounds off several days hot blooded action at the Sepang F1 Circuit, starting with the launches of the facelifted Mercedes-Benz A-Class range and the stunning SL43.

Mercedes-AMG models participating in the gathering range from the A45s and GLA45s, to a salvo of the '43' series models - mostly consisting the C43, GLC43 and even the unique SLC43. 

A gaggle of Mercedes-AMG G63s also join in the proceedings, highlighting almost the entire range of AMG vehicles on sale currently.

But perhaps the biggest highlight were a trio of AMG Black Series models - consisting a W204 C63, R230 SL65, and AMG GTR . 

The overarching Mercedes-Benz Driving Experience program (and AMG Gathering) once again exhibits MBM's ability to combine it's core values of precision and competition with culture and lifestyle elements to provide a truly unique customer experience.

Will the AMG Gathering - at least in the context of combustion engine ones - be even bigger next year, considering the company's shift towards electrification? Time will tell.
