This is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQA facelift. Alongside visual updates, the EQA has also received updates to its powertrain and equipment.
Exterior changes include a redesigned black panel featuring a star pattern, replacing the previous two horizontal slats. The small Mercedes-Benz stars on the grille are now black as the default option with the Progressive package or with the Night Package. Alternatively, with the Electric Art or AMG Line styling packages, they can come in chrome.
Thereβs also a revised bumper with glossy black trim at the fog lamp recesses, while AMG Line models now boast wheel arch cladding that matches the body colour. The facelift introduces four new wheel designs, ranging from 18 to 20 inches, plus fresh paint choices: spectral blue and high-tech silver.
The lineup commences with the EQA 250, which comes equipped with a front-mounted electric motor producing 190 PS and 385 Nm. Power is supplied by a 66.5 kWh lithium-ion battery; AC charging is up to 11 kW and DC fast charging goes up to 100 kW (charging capabilities apply to all variants).
The subsequent variant, the EQA 250+, retains the same single-motor setup but features an increased usable battery capacity of 70.5 kWh. The top-of-the-range is the EQA 300 4Matic, introducing a rear electric motor for all-wheel drive and delivering a total system output of 228 PS and 390 Nm.
Aerodynamic optimisations including a new rear wheel arch leading edge, a spoiler-like ridge integrated into the taillights, and low rolling resistance tyres allow the new EQA 250+ to achieve a WLTP-standard range of up to 560 km.
Meanwhile, the EQA 250 and EQA 300 achieve a WLTP range of up to 528 km and 459 km respectively.
Inside, the EQA now boasts the latest-generation steering wheel from the brand with haptic buttons. There's a new brown lime open-pore wood trim and dashboard trim adorned with the Mercedes-Benz star pattern, which can optionally be backlit.
All EQA variants now feature a 10.25-inch central touchscreen that's connected to an updated version of the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) with improved voice control.
Drivers will now have the advantage of a new range maximisation function in the MBUX system, providing recommendations to optimize range. The updated EQA also gets Sound Experiences: Silver Waves, Vivid Flux, Roaring Pulse, and Serene Breeze.
Wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay has been integrated for smartphones. The optional Burmester surround sound system now offers the immersive Dolby Atmos audio experience.
In terms of driver assistance, the sensor suite has been expanded to include a new mono-multipurpose camera and a reverse camera. The Driving Assistance package has been upgraded with improved functionality, such as Active Lane Keeping Assist, which now intervenes through steering rather than ESP.
The updated EQA is expected to be available for ordering in Europe in the fall of 2023, with dealership availability projected at the beginning of 2024.
