Alongside the swoopy Mercedes-Benz EQS, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has also previewed the Mercedes-Benz EQB 350 4Matic, a 7-seater EV SUV. Think of the EQB as the EV version of the regular Mercedes-Benz GLB.

For Malaysia, the sole EQB 350 4Matic is offered and is imported (CBU) from Germany, benefitting from the government’s EV incentives, which includes exemption of import, excise, and road tax, until 31-Dec 2023.

The EQB 350 4Matic has an estimated pricing of RM 330,000, on-the-road, excluding insurance. The EQB 350 is expected to hit Malaysian showrooms by September.

The Mercedes-Benz EQB 350 is powered by two electric motors, one on each axle, creating an electric all-wheel drive (AWD) SUV in the process. Combined, these motors are capable of delivering 292 PS and 520 Nm, and is juiced by a 66.5 kWh battery pack.

Performance figures include a 0-100 km/h time of 6.2 seconds, as well as a top speed of 160 km/h. Under the stringent WLTP test cycle, Mercedes-Benz said that the EQB 350 consumes 18.1 to 19.4 kWh/100 km. Its range under the same test cycle is between 388 to 423 km.

With its CCS2 connector, the EQB supports DC fast charging of up to 100 kW, taking just 32 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% state of charge (SoC). A brief 15-minute charge can yield an additional 140 km mileage.
