While the fourth-generation (or third, if you don’t consider the Ignis as first-generation) Suzuki Swift Sport was introduced in Malaysia earlier this year, it is already in its fourth year in the model cycle.
Come next year, an all-new Suzuki Swift is expected to be introduced and the Sport model a year after in 2023.
Interestingly, BestCarWeb reports that there will be a new mini-SUV model from Suzuki, which will be based on the next-generation Suzuki Swift Sport. This could be slotted between the Suzuki Ignis and S-Cross in terms size and positioning.
The report also mentioned that since it’s based on the Swift Sport, its introduction isn’t expected until 2024.
Currently, the Suzuki Swift Sport is built on the lightweight Heartect platform and powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 140 PS/230 Nm. In Malaysia, only the 6-speed automatic transmission is available while other markets get a 6-speed manual as an option.
The quest for automotive knowledge began as soon as the earliest memories. Various sources information, even questionable ones, have been explored including video games, television, magazines, or even internet forums. Still stuck in that rabbit hole.
