Alongside the updated 2021 BMW 5 Series (G30 LCI) range, the company has also introduced the facelifted 2021 BMW 630i GT M Sport (G32 LCI) in Malaysia today.
With extended warranty and service package, the GT is priced from RM 417,659. Here's the price list in full:
Do note that the SST exemption is due to end on 30-June 2021.
Exterior - BMW LaserLight, new look
Standard for BMW's mid-life refreshes, the locally-assembled (CKD Kulim) 630i GT M Sport now gets a new front fascia - comprising of BMW LaserLight LED headlights, a slightly larger kidney grille, and a redesigned front bumper.
Moving on to the sides, the updated 630i gets style 817 M bicolour wheels. As is tradition with M Sport models, bright blue brake calipers peek from behind the 20-inch alloy wheels cased in mixed run-flat tyres.
Round the back, the 630i GT M Sport gets a rehashed rear bumper with new diffuser design, bookended by trapezoidal exhaust pipes on both ends. Goodies like the active rear spoiler - which automatically deploys and retracts at 120 km/h and 80 km/h respectively - remain.
Capping off the exterior is the M-specific high-gloss black 'Shadow Line' treatment, while there's a choice of four colours: Bernina Grey Amber Effect, Mineral White, Carbon Black and Sophisto Grey Brilliant Effect.
Interior - Larger infotainment screen
Step inside and you'll find a cabin decked with Dakota leather upholstery, anthracite headliner, and fine-wood ash open-pored trim with Pearl Chrome highlights.
Slightly elevated seats (by 5 cm) aside, the new 630i M Sport gets a larger central touchscreen infotainment system - now 12.3 inches, up from 10.25-inches pre-LCI.
Typical of M Sport cars, there's sports seats for both front seat occupants, as well as an M leather steering wheel, and head-up display (HUD).
Meanwhile, passengers get to enjoy a two-part panoramic glass roof, which measures slightly over a meter length-wise and a width of 90 cm.
Rounding things up inside is a 464 watt, 16-speaker Harmon Kardon Surround Sound system, and four-zone automatic air-conditioning.
Other niceties the 630i GT M Sport gets include the Comfort Access System and BMW Display Key.
Safety - Adds on 360-deg camera
As for safety and driver assistance systems, the 630i GT now benefits from a 360-degree camera with its Parking Assistant Plus system.
Other than that, standard driving assistance features encapsulate:
Lane departure warning
Lane change warning
Front collision warning with brake intervention
Rear-cross traffic warning with rear collision prevention
Active cruise control with stop-and-go
Performance - 2.0-litre turbo, 8 AT
Remaining unchanged amidst these changes is the 2.0-litre, TwinPower turbo mill. Here's what it produces:
BMW 630i GT M Sport performance
2.0-litre, turbocharged four-cylinder
258 PS @ 5,000 - 6,500 rpm
400 Nm @ 1,550 - 4,400 rpm
8-speed automatic
Claimed figures for the century sprint is 6.5 seconds, and BMW says the GT can return fuel efficiency figures of 7.3 litres/100 km.
