Though the Subaru XV does come equipped with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, that was only offered on the top-of-the-line GT Edition which comes with a hate-it-or-love-it bodykit. However, TC Subaru has just unveiled the latest update for the Subaru XV 2.0i-P in Malaysia.
The updated mid-range XV 2.0i-P now comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support on the 8-inch infotainment screen, which is a boon for those wanting seamless smartphone connectivity.
Besides the updated infotainment system, the XV also comes with leather-suede combination seats. The seats are accentuated by a combination of gloss black, matte black, and sleek silver while orange stitching gives it a hint of sportiness.
The upholstery is exclusive to only two markets, Malaysia and Thailand.
The XV 2.0i-P is available in six colours – Pure White, Dark Grey Metallic, Ice Silver Metallic, Dark Blue Pearl, Cool Grey Khaki, and Sunshine Orange.
Aside from the aforementioned upgrades, the rest are carried over from the pre-update XV including Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and the 2.0-litre Boxer engine (156 PS/196 Nm). That engine is paired to a CVT automatic gearbox.
Safety equipment is still quite lacking with Subaru’s EyeSight ADAS suite absent on all local variants of the XV, but we can expect the facelifted XV to come with ADAS, albeit at a more premium price.
Speaking of premium, the updated Subaru XV 2.0i-P is priced from RM 131,788 (on-the-road without insurance). That is an increase of RM 3,000 from the pre-update variant. Below are the prices of the variants of the XV:
Subaru XV prices and variants

Price
2.0i
RM 117,788
2.0i-P
RM 131,788
GT Edition 2.0i-P

However, for those wanting an XV with proper smartphone connectivity straight from the factory without the body kit, maybe it’s a premium worth paying for.
