    It's very common with red paint because it has a high oxide content that is very good for resisting rust but over time, with the effects of weathering, most notably from the Sun, the paint surface chemically alters and lacquer loses it's adhesion. This is why the horizontal surfaces suffer more.11 Mar 2014
