1-February 2024 will mark the global launch of the 2024 Mitsubishi Xpander Hybrid and Xpander Cross Hybrid. Thailand will serve as the locale of the global launch.

Crafted with the e:motion messaging, the hybrid pair were initially revealed as part of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation's mid-term business plan. They're part of 5 planned electrified offerings by them, in the pursuit to have electrified vehicles account for half of their global sale by 2030.

Details regarding the Xpander HEV and Xpander Cross HEV remain scant at this point. A hybrid powertrain will help it spring a competitive edge against popular rivals (namely the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid), especially in a market that incentivises hybrids.

In terms of aesthetics, the teaser suggests that the Xpander Hybrid and Xpander Cross Hybrid will feature distinctive blue exterior accents, setting them apart from their conventionally powered counterparts.

Meanwhile, a previous Nikkei report says that the Xpander Hybrid is to be produced in Thailand, and the Kingdom will serve as a hub to export it to markets in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. It's a switch from the regular Xpander, which is made in Indonesia and exported to Thailand.

The regular Xpander is sold in Malaysia, priced from RM 100,980.
