You read that right – it’s actually cheaper to maintain the new 2022 Perodua Myvi over a 5-year period compared to the model it replaces.
Let’s take a closer look and see how much owners of the new Perodua Myvi are expected to pay in terms of maintenance over a 5-year / 100,000-km period.
Over a 5-year / 100,000-km period, it costs RM 2,944 to maintain the new 2022 Myvi, while it costs RM 3,000 to maintain the pre-facelift Myvi over the same period.
Whereas the 4AT Myvi needs its Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) to be replaced at every 40,000 km interval, the new CVT-equipped Myvi requires a CVT fluid change at every 100,000 km interval instead.
As for tyre costs, the table below illustrates the cost to replace the 14- and 15-inch tyres of the Myvi.

Then there's the cost of replacing the battery in the Myvi. The non-CVT Myvi variants get either a 34B19L battery (for models without auto start/stop, or as Perodua calls it, Eco Idle) or a M42 unit (with auto start/stop). As for the new Myvi, it uses a different M42R battery across the range.
