An updated version of the Navara pick-up is launched by Nissan. The refresh list includes a revised chassis setup, a new manual gearbox, and extra technology. 

Outside, the changes have it a new 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels and fresh black headlight surrounds. For the first time, the Navara gets Nissan a Connect function, which is a smartphone app that lets owners can remotely operate the pick-up’s door locks, check the status of its fuel and fluid levels and pre-programme sat-nav routes ahead of departure. 

The revisions of Chassis for the new Nissan Navara start with the roll-out of the truck’s multi-link rear suspension setup to the King Cab variant, increasing the standard payload by 46kg. Which means that the whole range is now available with fully independent suspension. Navara's braking system is also revised, fitting disc brakes to the rear axle in place of the old model’s drums, as well as a larger brake servo and bigger front discs.

Speaking of the powertrain, the less-powered 2.3-litre four-cylinder diesel has been retuned by Nissan, adding new twin turbochargers. Torque has increased by 22 Nm over the previous version to 425 Nm, but power remains the same at 161bhp. A new six-speed manual transmission with bigger ratios and a quicker shift pattern complement the engine upgrade.
