In December 2023, Neta announced the completion of its 20,000 units per year capacity plant in Thailand. The company has since followed up on its progress, confirming that the first batch of Thailand-assembled (CKD) right-hand drive cars – a first outside of China – will reach customers by April 2024.
The plant is in the outskirts of Bangkok, built in partnership with Neta’s local partner Bangchan General Assembly.
Currently, the plant only makes one model, the Neta V-II, a facelift version of the Neta V sold by Intro Synergy. The Neta V-II will be launched in Thailand next week, at the 2024 Bangkok International Motor Show.
Sold in China as the Neta Aya, the Neta V-II features a new taillight and a different design on the lower front bumper. Driving range and battery capacity remain unchanged, at 40.7 kWh, capable of up to 384 km of driving range (NEDC).
The single front motor makes 95 PS / 150 Nm. Top speed is limited to 101 km/h.

Under Thailand's latest EV3.5 purchase subsidy scheme, subsidies for battery EVs have been reduced, now capped at THB 100,000 (~RM 13.1k), down from last year's maximum of THB 150,000 (~RM 19.7k).
Qualified manufacturers must commit to local production by 2026 by a ratio of 1:2 (for every imported EV receiving a subsidy, two units must be locally manufactured). The ratio increases to 1:3 by 2027.
Great Wall's Ora Good Cat was the first to be locally assembled there. BYD has also announced CKD plans.
Neta is a brand by Hozon New Energy Automobile Co. Ltd. It sold 127,496 vehicles in 2023, down 16 percent from 2022 due to slowing demand for battery EVs (BEVs) and intense price war in China.
For 2024, Hozon is looking to export markets, especially Southeast Asia, to counter slowing demand in China. The company is aiming to lift exports to 100,000 units, contributing to a deliveries of 300,000 units.
Apart from Thailand, local assembly is also scheduled to start in Indonesia in May 2024. It is a contract manufacturing arrangement with PT Handal Indonesia Motor, with a planned annual capacity of 27,000 units.
In Malaysia, GoAuto Group, a sister-company of Neta distributor Intro Synergy, has partnered with Careplus Group to establish NexV Manufacturing Sdn Bhd (NMSB). The joint venture company is building a 30,000 units per year plant in Negeri Sembilan’s Chembong Industrial Area, near Rembau, to locally assemble Neta models.
Intro Synergy sells the outgoing pre-facelift Neta V at RM 100,000.
