Your eyes are not deceiving you. This is not a brand-new Land Rover but rather the all-new 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe and all your previous notions on Korean cars with bland, boring designs can be thrown out of the window.
The fifth-generation Santa Fe is the first full model change since 2018 and the Korean H badge took an unconventional approach with a design that maximises rear cargo capacity as well as to better accommodate outdoor and urban activities.
The boxy and distinctive silhouette is derived from its long wheelbase and wide tailgate area. The H-shaped headlamps harmonise with the H-motif lower front design to enhance visual completeness and those same shape design elements reinterpret the italic ‘H’ emblem.
Seen from the side, the bold roofline, sharply defined wheel arches, shortened front overhang, and 21-inch wheels all combine to give the all-new Santa Fe a robust, adventurous look.
The rear is both minimalist and futuristic with the H-shaped taillights unified with the front H lights to create harmony and provide a distinct presence.
Stepping inside, the all-new Santa Fe’s interior offers generous living space for an effortless outdoor lifestyle. The more accommodating tailgate creates a spacious interior with a terrace-like feel at the rear when open.
The fully foldable second- and third-row seats provide class-leading interior space which makes it possible for users to enjoy the outdoors in the easiest way possible.
Contrasting with the strong exterior, the interior is refined with an H-motif design applied to the dashboard and air vents to enhance the sense of openness and create a unique sensibility. The all-new Santa Fe is offered with a panoramic curved display that connects the 12.3-inch digital cluster and infotainment system as well as dual wireless charging.

The brightly coloured seats and headliner create a sense of spaciousness while soft-touch wood-patterned garnish and Nappa leather seats with delicate embroidery add some sophisticated style.
Hyundai also mentions that the all-new Santa Fe incorporates a number of sustainable materials like the suede headliner and rear seatbacks made from recycled plastic as well as door trim covers made from eco-friendly leatherette.
Powertrain and performance specifications are not announced at the unveiling. Further details are expected to be announced at the all-new fifth-generation 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe’s world premiere in August on Hyundai’s YouTube channel.
