The all-new C28 2023 Nissan Serena has been spotted testing at Genting Highlands. Despite being camouflaged, the boxy exterior, distinctly angular design cues, and wheel design point to the C28 Nissan Serena.
As seen in the global reveal, the C28 Serena’s front-end features a prominent grille with integrated headlights. There are angular trim pieces on each end of the front bumper, while the front fog lights are incorporated into the lower air intake.
The rest of the C28 Nissan Serena’s side profile is reminiscent of the outgoing model, including the large cutout at the A-pillar, as well as raised beltline towards the rear-end.
As for powertrain, there’s a new 1.4-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine hooked up to Nissan’s e-Power series-hybrid system. The petrol engine makes 98 PS and 123 Nm, which serves only as an on-board generator for the electric motor that outputs 163 PS and 315 Nm.
The second powertrain option is a regular naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre MR20DD 4-cylinder petrol engine that does 150 PS and 200 Nm, mated to a CVT-type automatic transmission.
It remains to be seen which powertrain option we’ll be getting or when the C28 Nissan Serena will be launched in Malaysia. Currently, the Nissan Serena S-Hybrid is available in two variants here in Malaysia - Highway Star and Premium Highway Star, priced at RM 149,888 and RM 162,888 respectively.
