Serving as the flagship Honda model in Indonesia, PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) has launched the all-new 2024 Honda Accord in the archipelago.
Only one variant is offered, the RS e:HEV hybrid and it was previously previewed at the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS).
The most shocking part of the all-new Accord’s Indo launch is the price of the sole RS variant which is IDR 959.9 million (~RM 289k). The previous 10th-generation Accord was only offered with a 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo petrol engine and was priced at IDR 759 million (~RM 229k). That is a whopping 21% price hike!
Since the Accord’s introduction in Indonesia in 1978, more than 82,000 units have been sold but the latest Accord serve as its most advanced beyond the exorbitant price.
The hybrid D-segment sedan is offered with an EV Switch feature with 3 modes – Auto, EV, and Charge. Auto mode automatically adjusts the powertrain to its most effective and efficient according to the conditions.
EV mode, as the name suggests, allows the Accord e:HEV to utilize power from the electric motors while Charge mode distributes power from the petrol engine to charge the battery.

Powering the Accord e:HEV is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder Atkinson cycle DOHC engine (145 PS/179 Nm) working in tandem with an electric motor (184 PS/335 Nm). Combined, the e:HEV powerplant is capable of producing a max output of 207 PS.
The lone “Road Sailing” variant of the Indo-spec Accord is kitted with some sporty visual accessories like a black mesh front grille, black skirting around the car, and a black ducktail rear spoiler. The Accord RS e:HEV is also fitted with 18-inch alloy wheels along with LED headlights and taillights.
It is also equipped with an Active Grill Shutter located in the front bumper. This feature would actively open to allow airflow to improve the sedan’s thermal performance.

Just like the Thai and Japanese units, the Indonesian Accord is also offered with the Experience Selection Dial that can be configured to adjust the air-cond temperature or the audio system.

Being an advanced generation of the Accord, it is feature-packed in terms of safety as well. There are 8 airbags equipped which include dual knee airbags for the driver and front passenger. It is also offered with the Honda Sensing ADAS suite which includes:

- Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow (ACC with LSF)
- Road Departure Mitigation System with Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW)

The Indo-spec Accord is also available with Active Cornering Light that activates at low speeds of up to 40 km/h and adjusts the headlight angle according to the steering.
Another safety feature offered is the Pop-up Hood System. When the sedan detects a collision, the front hood will lift up to around 100 mm to prevent head injuries from pedestrians.
Only 3 colours are available for the Accord in Indonesia, Platinum White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl and Ignite Red Metallic.
Unfortunately for Malaysia, Honda Malaysia has stated that the all-new Accord will be skipping the country. The outgoing Accord is still listed on Honda Malaysia’s website with two variants offered:

- Accord 1.5 TC-P – RM 197,400
